Looking for Ways to Reduce Printing Cost?
Today, more businesses are using multifunction devices (MFDs) to manage and control their costs.
Here are six ways MFDs can help you save money.
1. Consolidate devices and save
MFDs help reduce costs by consolidating all the functions of multiple office products (copy, fax, scan, print) into one space-saving device that does it all. This helps reduce costs by purchasing only one set of supplies for your MFD.
2. Reduce energy consumption
By combining functions like print, copy, fax and scan into one device, energy consumption can be reduced. Plus the energy-saver mode on most MFDs will substantially conserve electricity when the device is not in use.
3. Save with scanning
Scanning documents with your MFD and saving them electronically can help reduce paper costs and storage needs. Fuji Xerox devices allow you to scan hard copy documents and route them to almost anywhere at the push of a button — to email, network storage, and even directly to the desktop. The optional Scan to Searchable PDF functionality, lets users effortlessly create fully searchable PDF files in one easy step.
4. Duplex and print multiple pages per sheet
One of the simplest ways to reduce costs is to use duplex printing (printing on both sides of the page). Most MFDs include duplex printing as standard to help you save on the cost of paper. Printing multiple pages per sheet is especially useful when printing Microsoft PowerPoint® presentations, MS Word® documents, PDFs — and even web pages. In the printing dialog box, look for an option to print multiple pages on one sheet. Also check to see if your print driver allows “N-up” printing, which lets you manually set the number of pages you’d like to print on a single page.
5. Control and monitor usage
You can track your print usage on MFDs with Xerox Standard Accounting — already built into all Fuji Xerox devices. There are also advanced software solutions available that work with your MFDs to help control and monitor printing costs.
6. Fax Forward
Eliminate paper and toner costs associated with traditional faxing by configuring your MFD to route incoming faxes to email.
